The summer garden concert with the Chiltern West Gallery Quire exceeded all expectations. On a lovely summer, evening the Quire transported us back to 18th and 19th century Meldreth, as they played, sang and talked about village life and music in the community. Many people have said how much they enjoyed the evening and commented on just how much work the Quire had put into their preparation, to make their performance so Meldreth-relevant. The Quire so obviously enjoyed it all themselves. Having the Meldreth Quire Book, which had belonged to churchwarden Benjamin Hale, available on display was a real bonus.
