Coffee: from Bush to Beaker

by Colin Smith

7:30 pm, Friday 24th February 2012
Meldreth Church Meeting Room

Through visiting countries of origin and researching importers throughout Europe over the years, Colin Smith has built up a selection of over 70 different estates and regions. From his company's roasting plant in Hemel Hempstead, using each origin with its own flavour characteristics and through skilled blending and careful roasting, an extensive range of coffees is produced.

More recently Fairtrade coffee has become popular which has a premium that is used to help the grower gain a fair price for their crop and a recent development is a business devoted to Organic and Ethical coffees

Colin is a Past President of the Speciality Coffee Association of Europe but also has a speciality tea interest with a large range of loose teas, speciality flavoured and green as well as fruit tisanes and herbal products.

We hope to sample some of these products in the interval and the evening should provide a wealth of experience and interest.
