To browse through the archive, click 'Images' (or go here). The thumbnails will be displayed in chronological order. Alternatively, click 'Search' (or go here) if there is something you are particularly interested in. Type your search term in the 'text' field at the top of the screen, e.g. 'shop', 'church', 'station', 'North End', then click 'caption' and 'search'. The number of matches found (if any) will be shown at the top of the page; click 'view' to see the resulting thumbnails
When viewing images, various options are available. Once you have clicked on a thumbnail to view an enlarged image, look at the options to the right of the image. If 'show' is in bold next to audio or text then you may click to listen to an audio clip or view associated text. Hotspots, which appear as coloured dots on the image, allow images on a similar theme or images of the same person to be linked together. (They can be turned off, by clicking 'hide' next to the Hotspots label on the right hand side of the screen.)
